Nutrition Company is Backed by Major Sports Investors

Venus Williams, a professional tennis player, has started her own company.

The company is called Happy Viking, a nutrition company that focuses on plant-based superfood.

The company just announced an investment round filled with significant backing from other professional athletes.

Who Joined the Mix?

One major investor was Serena Williams, the sister of Venus. Serena is a 23 time major title winner in tennis.

Another major name was Kevin Durant, who joined other NBA players including Collin Sexton and Isaiah Hartenstein.

Other contributors in the sports world include Megan Rapinoe, Rober Arzón, Michelle Wie West, Reilly Opelka, and many more.

Joining the athletes are additional investors Mates, Parallel, and Oliver Trevena.

The company has raised $2 million in this round.

Venus and co-founder, Neel Premkumar, have been blown away by the support they have received. Venus said:

“I’ve seen first-hand what the benefits of adopting a plant-based diet has done for my body and performance.  With Happy Viking, I want to give everyone the opportunity to be healthy, feel good, and live their dreams. I’m so excited to have these other world-class athletes on board to support our mission!”

The company is progressing very quickly, and it is very doubtful this is the last we will hear from Venus and Happy Viking.
